Understanding the 105-Day Expanded Maternity Leave: A Simplified Guide on Republic Act 11210

Under the Expanded Maternity Leave Law in the Philippines, expectant mothers are granted 105 days of paid maternity leave, with the option to extend it for an additional 30 days without pay. Not only that, it also promotes gender equality by allowing a portion of the leave to be transferred to alternate caregivers, including the child’s father or the mother’s female partner.
